Arsenal: “We will continue to take part in UEFA competitions”
Arsenal will also face the European Super League, with the London club’s management making it clear through an announcement that the team will continue to take part in European competitions sponsored by UEFA.
Arsenal were one of six Premier League clubs that initially backed the plan to leave UEFA in 2021 and later withdrew their support for the European Super League.
Two years later and with the ESL facing a comeback following the decision of the Court of the European Union not to allow UEFA to monopolize European competitions, the club from the English capital has taken a clear stand and refused to side with the “Rebels” Real and Real Barcelona.
“Arsenal as a club takes note of the decision of the European Court of Justice of Thursday 21 December 2023 and our position in relation to the European Super League has not changed.”
We will continue to participate in UEFA competitions and continue to work with other European clubs and the European Club Association (ECA).the statement said.
It is noted that Arsenal have been identified with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, all of whom made it clear on Thursday (December 21) that they are fully committed to UEFA, with the only team from the Big- 6 did this So far, Liverpool has not yet received a statement on the controversial issue.
