Premier League
“Our involvement in the European Super League has been suspended,” Liverpool said in a statement
Liverpool have joined a strong front of teams opposing the creation of the European Super League and the Reds’ management has announced they will continue to take part in UEFA competitions.
The European Super League aims to revolutionize European football by replacing FIFA and UEFA, but the allies Barcelona and Real Madrid hoped to be are being ignored.
On Thursday, countless teams stood for European football’s current official bodies, simultaneously closing the door on the ESL, while a day later the few who had not taken a position took over.
There were questions about Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League, but these were resolved on Friday with the Londoners making an announcement and the Reds following suit, cutting all ties with the closed European league.
“Yesterday’s ruling by the European Court of Justice does not change Liverpool’s previous position on a planned European Super League.
Our engagement was interrupted. We will continue to work with other clubs through the ECA and take part in UEFA competitions.” said the Merseyside Reds.
