Thomas Frank: ‘Incredibly lucky that United changed their system against little Brentford’
In a statement shortly after Bradford’s game against Manchester United, Brentford manager Thomas Frank said the Red Devils were very lucky and was critical of Ralph Rangnik’s decision to overtake his third team lead.
Brentford suffered a 3-1 defeat by Manchester United but Thomas Frank said he was proud of his players’ performance against the Red Devils.
The Danish manager said his side were superb in the first half, while also commenting on Ralph Rangnick’s decision to overtake a third central defender during the game to keep Manchester United ahead.
“EI’m incredibly proud of my team. We’re the smallest team in the Premier League and United the biggest. We destroyed them in the first half, they didn’t breathe, three great chances and one of them could be a win. United were incredibly lucky. They changed their system against little Brentford‘ said Brentford’s Danish coach, among others.
Of course, the Danish coach made a serious mistake (probably unknowingly) when he described the case of the absent Sancho as one of the transfer scraps that did not come out. The Red Devils’ England midfielder had obtained permission to attend the funeral of a member of his family.
“They opened the gate but didn’t have a chance in front of their goal. That’s why they’re paying Sancho €87m and he wasn’t even in action today,” he said.
