Abramovich: ‘Honor to life to be part of Chelsea, I wish the new owners the best of luck’

Roman Abramovich said in a personal statement that he was honored to be part of Chelsea for twenty years and wished him the best of luck in his new Chelsea ownership.

Roman Abramovich made a personal statement on Chelsea’s website, with the Blues announcing that a final agreement has been reached to transfer shares to Todd Bolly.

Thanking those who had worked together in the blues during those twenty years, the Russian tycoon stressed it was an honor to be part of the Londoners and wished the club’s new estate every success.

Details of what Abramovic says in his statement:

“It’s been almost three months since I announced my intention to sell Chelsea. During this time the team worked hard to find the right owner for Chelsea who would be in a better position to successfully lead the team to the new capital.

Owning this group comes with great responsibility. Since joining Chelsea almost twenty years ago I’ve seen firsthand what this club can do. My aim was to ensure the next owner had a mindset that would enable the success of both the men’s and women’s teams, as well as the will and motivation to continue developing other key aspects of the club, such as the academy and the vital work of the ‘Chelsea Foundation “.

I am pleased that this search has now come to a successful conclusion. As I hand Chelsea over to its new owners, I want to wish them the best of luck, both on and off the pitch.

It was an honor to be part of this club. I want to thank all the past and present players, staff and of course the fans of the team for these incredible years.

I am proud that as a result of our mutual success, millions of people will now benefit from the newly formed charity. This is the legacy we created together.
