Michael Ashley accuses Amanda Stevele of breaching the terms of the Newcastle takeover loan
Michael Ashley has filed a lawsuit against Amanda Stewley, a senior Newcastle manager, for breaching the terms of the agreed loan deal to buy the club.
Newcastle co-owner and CEO Amanda Steveley was embroiled in legal adventures when former Bubbles owner Michael Ashley sued her for breach of the loan to Amanda Steve.
Ashley loaned her €8.3million to complete the Newcastle takeover, but along with the fund from Saudi Arabia, she filed some documents with the London court, claiming the terms of the loan had been breached.
In fact, the lawsuit was filed against her husband, Mehrad Gondusi, who was the guarantor of the loan that was due to be covered in two years. Ashley’s lawyers claim Stevele borrowed £30.30million from the Reuben Brothers to buy a 10% stake in Newcastle.
