Southampton were the team that finally managed to stop Manchester City’s move. The 1-1 draw at St Marys was the champions’ first failed win in 12 Premier League games.

Manchester City found their… carpenter in “St. Marys”, after the southampton drew with her 1-1 for the 23rd Premier League game and broke an impressive streak. The Citizens came on 12 straight league wins and this is their first defeat since losing at home to Crystal Palace in October.

In fact, a point might seem like a win for the English champions, who just chased after Kyle Walker Peters’ goal in the 7th minute. The game was ambiguous in the ensuing minutes, both teams pressing in opposition areas, but Fraser Forster had more work (along with his bars stopping three tries) in a four-on-four with Rahim Sterling.

The hosts held out until the 65th minute when Emerick Laport greeted Kevin de Bruyne’s substitute with a broken head to level the score at 1-1. The visitors closed Southampton at home but found no further opportunities to surprise and settled for a draw.
