Andama Traore spoils deal with Tottenham and gives hope to Barcelona
The almost certain deal between Tottenham and Wolves for Adama Traore ended in a wreck, with the player available again and Barcelona returning to the top for his takeover.
English media reported an almost complete transfer amid Tottenham’s negotiations with Wolves and Andaman Traore over his move to London.
However, it was canceled at the last minute and the deal was buried in the snow, with the Daily Mail revealing that the 26-year-old Spanish forward was the one who made it back.
The reason is his reluctance to go to Tottenham to play as a full-back, as Antonio Conte intended in the three-back and extreme defender formation he employs, and Barcelona are now stepping into the fray to make him their own close.
According to the report, the Catalans want to acquire him on loan, with a €30m buy option, while the player is seriously considering a possible exit from the Premier League and a return to “Barça” who he played for Aston Villa in 2015 had left.
