Transfer Markt’s choice to value Cristiano Ronaldo at €75m in a list he made in 2020 with players represented by Jorge Mendes infuriated the Portuguese to ban the famous website.

Can a website with tons of football content, which is a compass for players, teams and managers, irritate a player so much that he decides to “ban” it? The answer is yes, if we refer to a star who shows on the field that he doesn’t lift a fly on his sword when he thinks “they’re throwing him” and undermining his interests: Cristiano Ronaldo.

As it became known, the Portuguese decided in March 2020 to block the Instagram account of the Transfermarkt website because he felt offended by the costs charged to him in the award.

In particular, in a select group of 11 players, represented by Jorge Mendes, CR7 had taken his place at the forefront of the attack, with the €75m he was valued at not to move.

This amount was the second highest on this list, with compatriot Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) having the highest cost (€100m), with Ronaldo vehemently contradicting the site’s choice and even communicating with them to air his grievances.

He first sent a message to the kids who handle the site’s social media, they gave him explanations and told him “among the people in your age group you’re by far the No. 1”. revealed “Athletic” a year later, the site’s moderator, Christian Schwartz.

“I think the difference was between 30 and 50 million euros in terms of Ronaldo and the next player on the list. Then he sent us smiling icons and then he blocked us.” additional functions.

Of course, a year later, people from the site can feel fully justified that they didn’t get it wrong Ronaldo’s move from Juventus to Manchester United cost the Red Devils almost €24million.
