Del Ali’s touching farewell to Tottenham friends
Del Ali joined Liverpool on behalf of Everton but isn’t forgetting Tottenham, with the England midfielder taking to a moving post on Twitter to say goodbye to Spurs friends.
For seven he served Tottenham with zeal and dedication, scoring 67 goals in 269 games with the Londoners as of February 2015, but for Del Ali the moment of farewell came.
Particularly after midnight on Monday when Everton settled with the Spurs and made him their own until the summer of 2024 to give Frank Lampard another gun alongside Donny van de Beek.
For his part, however, Del Ali is ignorant of Tottenham, despite never finding himself on the bench during the Mourinho and Conte eras, and he made sure to show it through his Twitter post this afternoon on Tuesday.
“It’s the end of a chapter but not of the book… Thanks for all the messages. I’ve had a wonderful seven years at Tottenham and have made some friends for the rest of my life who I now feel like family with!
I want to wish my brothers the best for the rest of the season and beyond. I want to say thank you to the fans.
We had some amazing moments together that I will always remember and I will never forget the incredible support you offered me.
Playing for you was a dream come true and you will be in my heart forever. I would like to give a special mention to Mauricio (ss Pochettino) and his staff for their confidence and guidance in the early stages of my career at Spurs, giving me the confidence and platform to show what I can do.
I love you all and wish you all the best for the future! Delete “.
It is recalled that according to the agreement between the two teams, Everton will have to pay €12m if Ali counts 20 appearances, while the total amount can reach €40m with the bonuses. As for his debut with his new team, that could happen next Tuesday (8/2) against Newcastle in the Premier League.
