Lazio 1-2 Napoli: Back at the top with the signing of Kvaratschelia
Lazio had a great win at the Olimpico against Inter Milan a week ago but on Saturday they were beaten by Napoli at the same stadium in the fifth match day of Serie A.
Lazio and Napoli suffered hiccups during the week and only one team managed to recover and take the victory points for Serie A Matchday 5 2-1 the “partenopei” puts them back at the top of the table together with Milan and ahead of Sunday’s games.
The game featured many good moments for both teams and Matias Jakani’s goal in the 4th minute contributed to that. The “Partenopei” had to open up even further and sought an equalizer with Hvitsa Kvaratshelia as the protagonist.
The Georgian striker had several chances, the biggest of them all being a brace with Ivan Provendel’s intervention, a post and a rebound from a good position that ended wide open. In the end, the goal came from a stopper, Jae Min Kim in the 38th minute.
Irving Lozano’s head-to-head with Adam Marusic at the end of the first period caused a scare and the Mexican was eventually carried away on a stretcher but remained unconscious.
In the 2nd half it was Kvaratthelia who decided everything and in the 61st minute completed a nice team effort with a shot to make it 2-1. Lazio tried to react, wasting chances and eventually accepted their fate.
