Spalletti: “The fans fell in love with Napoli again, I dreamed about it”
Napoli meet Spezia on Saturday after back-to-back wins against Lazio and Liverpool, with Luciano Spalletti sending a message that the Partenopei will do even better next time.
Napoli are one of the hottest sides in European football this season and Lazio and Liverpool have had to learn this the hard way, with the former suffering a 2-1 home loss to the Partenopei and the latter being drawn in the contest against ‘Diego Armando’ Maradona ” with the deafening 4:1.
Now Luciano Spalletti’s team is leaving these two matches of great difficulty behind with a perfect score and is allowed to continue its winning streak in the welcome on Saturday (October 9th, 4:00 p.m., COSMOTE SPORT 3 HD, LIVE from Sportish ) Spezia for the 6th matchday Serie A, with the veteran coach sending the message that he expects his players to behave in a similar way.
“We have to play against Spezia the same way we did against Liverpool, put both games on the same level and focus on the result and not on the opponent’s name.
Our fans fell in love with Napoli again and I dreamed about it.” he said at the press conference on Friday (9/9), before sending a message to his critics:
“When we lost comfortably against Barcelona, they all said that we had the wrong attitude because we tried to attack and press up.
We were punished when we counterattacked from our own corner. But then I said that we had the right approach and that we wanted to play like that again, which we did.
My goal is to make sure we play the same regardless of the shirts we have against us. In the game against Liverpool I saw the fans in the stands like I hadn’t seen in the last two years.
We’re on the right track, but Napoli’s greatest achievements are yet to come.”
It is pointed out that the Partenopei will not have Victor Oshimen, who was injured in the game against Liverpool, available in the coming weeks, with Spalletti making it clear that the Nigerian’s role at the forefront of attack will be played by one from now on from Simeone or Raspadori.
