Milan scored a great brace from Luigi Ferraris and defeated Sampdoria 2-1 thanks to goals from Mesia and Giroud. The Rossoneri played with ten players from the 47th minute after Leao was sent off.

AC Milan clinched their second consecutive Serie A win as they defeated Sampdoria 2-1 in Genoa and even played with ten men from the 47th minute after Rafael Leao was sent off.

Mesias opened the scoring for the Rossoneri in the 6th minute, Djurisic equalized in the 57th minute and ten minutes later Giroud scored the final goal. With this result, Milan have caught Roma with 14 points at the top, while Sampdoria stays two points below the relegation zone.

The match

Milan went into the game furiously and soon took the lead. The Rossoneri developed well on the break and Mesias saw the ball laid out for him and beat Audero with a nice finish to sixth.

In the 21st minute, the visitors scored a second goal with De Ketelare following a pass from Leao, but the goal was ruled out for offside by VAR intervention.

The second half started badly for Milan as Leao was sent off with a second yellow card. The Portuguese midfielder tried a reverse scissors shot but kicked Ferrari in the head and was booked.

The Sampdoria players capitalized on the numerical advantage, albeit temporary, and scored on Audelo’s assist with Djuricic’s header off the front post.

Despite everything, Milan managed to find the goal that gave them the win. The Rossoneri earned a VAR intervention penalty for handball after Olivier Giroud’s header. The French forward took over the execution and beat Audelo. In the remaining minutes, Sampdoria tried to get something out of the game, but without success.
