Matias Pogba and three other people are in custody
Matias Pogba appeared at the police station on Wednesday to explain his brother Paul Pogba’s allegations against him.
Matias Pogba has been in police custody since Wednesday, according to a report by Le Monde. The French newspaper claims he is in custody after visiting the police station to make a statement about his brother Paul Pogba’s blackmail case.
The Juventus midfielder claimed he was the victim of blackmail and threats from a gang that included childhood friends and he counted his brother among the blackmailers.
The 2018 world champion claimed in his statement that his brother was among the group of people who took him to an apartment in Paris last March and threatened him and demanded €13,000,000 “for the 13 years of protection”. According to the complaints, two of them had guns with them while Pogba claims he recognized his brother.
French authorities launched an investigation into the case in early September and it is in connection with this that Matias Pogba appeared at the police station and is now being arrested along with three other people, according to French media.
