Juventus: Destruction in the tens of millions in the eventual sacking of Allegri
Juventus are looking for a replacement for Massimiliano Allegri but are struggling to make the decision to sack him as he faces tens of millions of euros in consequences.
Juventus are faltering early in the season and a defeat at bottom side Monza would be the icing on the cake for Massimiliano Allegri’s removal from the bench if there were no objective difficulties for such a development.
The Italian coach is under a lot of pressure from the continued poor results from last season, but the Bianconeri’s leadership doesn’t seem to be listening to the fans’ voices.
According to Calcio e Finanza, the reasons for Allegri’s whereabouts so far are financial, as the impact of a potential sacking would severely affect the club’s finances.
The 55-year-old coach has signed with Juventus until June 30, 2025 with a net profit of 7,000,000 euros and a gross profit of 12,950,000 euros. He still has 19,000,000 to collect by the end of the contract, five of which by the end of this season.
In the event of Allegri’s sacking, the long-term budget will be positively impacted by 36,000,000, not counting the rich compensation they will receive in such a development.
Likewise, not only the severance payment but also the contract of the Allegri successor should be deducted from the 36,000,000 to determine whether it is financially worthwhile to sack the Italian coach.
Because of this, people on the team are thinking about an internal successor with someone who is already contracted and not senior. Paolo Montero is a candidate to take the technical lead as he knows very well the team he played for from 1996 to 2005 and where he is now the Primavera coach, that is the second team.
Otherwise, the Bianconeri people will negotiate a small deal with a free agent like Thomas Tuchel or Paulo Souza waiting on his phone.
A third option is preferred by Italian clubs, namely not to sack Allegri but to hire a successor until the Italian coach finds a new team and mutually terminates his contract, without compensation of course.
