Venice – Napoli 0-2: Near the top with Osimen

Napoli put in a great deal of effort to earn the 2-0 win in Venice and that was enough to be a point away from Serie A champions Inter.

Victor Osimen was back in the starting XI for the first time since November and scored the decisive goal in the away win 2-0 from Naples onwards Venice for the 24th game of Serie A.

The Partenopei had slipped to 3rd after Milan’s win over Inter and only wanted to continue the win on the title track and get closer to points-lost champions Inter. Paolo Janetti’s team didn’t put up much resistance, but the visitors didn’t find the goal that easy. In one of the rare precise endgames, Mateo Politano made a cross from the right and the Nigerian striker jumped very high and took a 1-0 lead.

Napoli kept their foot on the gas in the final minutes and Tirone Ebuechi’s sending off in the delays gave Andrea Petania the gaps to set the final score.
