Varane on the Pogba witch case: “We are concerned, not insensitive”
Asked about the Paul Pogba case and the witchcraft allegations, Raphael Varane said it was something that worried the French players and stressed that they are not indifferent to it.
Paul Pogba is one of the faces of the last few days after his brother Matias’ complaints but also after gang blackmail.
Although the Juventus midfielder has denied using witchcraft against his team-mates and Kylian Mbappe as his brother has accused him of, the allegations have hit his team-mates at the France national team.
When asked what happened, Raphael Varane claimed everyone was worried about Pogba, stressing they weren’t ‘insensitive’.
“Unfortunately, there is a lot of non-competitive news at the moment. We try to focus on what happen on the pitch.
We’re players and that should be a priority, but we’re not insensitive to what’s happening around us. Especially when it’s about someone we know. Also, we feel kind of uncomfortable.
Internally we are doing very well. We are focused on our goal and trying to be as professional as possible.” he said characteristically.
