Simone Inzaghi celebrated Inter’s best performance of the season after a 2-1 home defeat by Roma, but the Milan defeat gave them a black record in their history.

After negative results with Lazio, Milan and Udinese, Inter suffered another consecutive defeat in their opener of this season’s Serie A, this time 2-1 at home to Roma.

“We played our best game this year, but we lost in a game where our goalkeeper didn’t have to have a single operation,” Simone Inzaghi pointed this out in the final but Inter’s defeat forced the Nerazzurri to write a negative story.

And that’s because they have lost four in their first eight games (they also have four wins and no draws) and made their worst start at Serie A level in their first eight games, also losing four in 2011/12.

That season, Gian Piero Gasperini started on the bench and only lasted five league games (he was sacked after a 3-1 loss to Novara on 20 November 2011) before Claudio Ranieri took over and claimed victory on his debut on the bench, however Defeats celebrated after Napoli and Catania follow.

It is recalled that Inter finished 6th in Serie A that season and they were eliminated from Champions League the following season.
