Inter: Martinez got away with a fine spit at Hernandez
Lautaro Martinez has been ordered to pay a fine of just €10,000 after the sport’s referee failed to notice the spitting at Theo Hernandez in Inter – Milan’s final minutes.
Lautaro Martinez avoided the worst and, with a fine of just €10,000, avoided clashing with Theo Hernandez in the final minutes of the Derby della Madonnina between Inter and Milan, which found their winner “Rossoneri” with a setback.
The Argentine striker walked over the French defender as the latter headed into the dressing room for a red card he received in the delays. According to TV footage, the two players got into a verbal altercation but Martines apparently appears to be spitting at his opponent, who then climbed the dressing room steps and tried to attack the Inter player.
For his part, Hernandez was fined with a fight for his sacking and €5,000 for the Martines incident.
The heaviest penalty was imposed on Alessandro Bastoni for the violent protests and facial expressions he used towards the match’s referees. For the same reason, his “Nerazzurri” manager Simone Inzaghi was given a suspension of play.
