Sampdoria announced the acquisition of Giovinco
After seven years without Italy, Sebastian Giovinco returns to Serie A. Sampdoria comes to an agreement with him and announces his takeover until the season finale on Wednesday (September 2nd).
A resident of Genoa and ‘Luigi Ferraris’ will now be Sebastian Giovinco, with the former Juventus and Toronto FC forward signing a contract with Sampdoria until the end of the season.
The 35-year-old forward hasn’t had a team since last summer, when he was sacked by Al Hilal (PAOK were then among those interested in taking him on but the deal didn’t go through), and the Blues turned give it to Manolo Gabbiadini and hands to him after a serious injury.
“All the signings have come in, I’m happy to be back in Serie A. Greetings to the friends of Sampdoria, looking forward to my first training session.” were the first words of Giovinco (he picked up the No. 21 shirt), who has scored 40 goals in 190 games in the Italian premier league with the shirts of Juventus, Empoli and Parma.
