Former Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne has confirmed the tragic news circulating in the Italian media about his wife’s miscarriage and has spoken for the first time about the tragic event his family has endured.
Lorenzo Insigne has spoken publicly for the first time about the tragic event that befell his family when former Napoli captain Jenny Darone’s wife miscarried six months into her pregnancy.
The 31 year old has been absent from Toronto training sessions since September 8, with the club citing a sensitive family matter.
During the press conference, the Italian international confirmed the tragic news.
“You all know that I’ve been dealing with personal issues for the past few weeks, but not everyone knows the real reason. So I make the situation clear: My wife and I have lost our daughter who will forever be in our hearts.
It’s difficult for me to talk about this topic, we have two children and thanks to them we will try to move forward.” he said characteristically.
