Massimo Allegri has stressed that Juventus will have to react against Lecce after being eliminated from the Champions League by Benfica, but made it clear that they will have several absentees in the ‘Via del Mare’ clash.

Juventus’ first elimination from the knockout rounds of the Champions League in eight years after their 4-3 defeat by Benfica in Lisbon. Massimo Allegri is still trying to lift the spirits of the players and send a message ahead of the league game against Lecce.

“These things happen in life and I can’t find the right word to describe what happened. There are teams that haven’t played in the Champions League for eight years.

The game against Lecce will be difficult, regardless of what happened in the Champions League. We should be angry about the exclusion.

I don’t like an alibi, we’re behind in the league and we shouldn’t focus on certain moments. We have the ability to respond with victory.

We’re back in the standings and Napoli have done great things like Milan, Inter and Roma.”stressed Massimo Allegri on the eve of the away La Liga game at Lecce, only to reveal afterwards that Veccia Signiora will face some significant losses.

“Vlachovic has had a problem since the Benfica game and cannot make it, while Locatelli will also be sidelined for personal reasons.

We will have 19 players for the game against Lecce, including three goalkeepers. Chiesa and Pogba won’t be with us in Saturday’s game, unlikely next Wednesday (including against Paris) and 99% not at Inter either.”
