Marie’s first message from the hospital: “My family and I are fine, thank you for your love”
A day after the knife attack and forced back surgery, Pablo Mari thanked those who stood by him by posting on his official Instagram account.
Pablo Mari was one of six people who were attacked with a knife in a shopping center in Milan on Thursday afternoon (27/10), but he was lucky because the knife did not hit a vital organ, but his back. At Monza, the player is expected to be sidelined for around three months.
From the first moment the ugly incident broke (one of the victims of the attack succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital), the Italian team stood by the Spanish defender, who thanked everyone for their interest his Instagram post.
“Following the devastating moment we experienced yesterday, my family and I would like to share that we are fortunately doing well and we would like to thank you for the many messages of love and support we have received.
We stand close to the victim’s families and friends, to whom we extend our condolences. We wish the other injured a speedy recovery.”wrote the defender, on loan from Arsenal to Monza, while also posting a photo of him from the hospital bed he is lying in, with his wife next to him.
