Sassuolo – Roma 2-2: Kiss of life for Mourinho with Cristante’s goal in 94′

Sassuolo and Roma starred in the 25th game of Serie A in a thrilling bra de fer at the Mapei Stadium, with the hosts touching the three, but Cristante took the bite out of their mouths in 94′.

After two disappointing results in a row, the 0-0 home win over Genoa for LaLiga and the 2-0 defeat to Inter midweek that meant elimination from the cup, the climate turned for Roma players and much more so for Jose Mourinho particularly difficult.

On Sunday evening, Serie A fans awaited the elimination of the Romans at the Mapei Stadium to see their reaction as part of the 25th game, which was not the most dynamic.

Proof that they were in front of goal with Tami Ibrahim’s well-aimed penalty kick to make it 45.+1, but could hardly keep their lead.

Shortly after the start of the second half and specifically in 47′, Smalling’s own goal tied the match, while in 73′ Traore (from whose feet the 1-1 phase started) took possession of the ball in Jalorosi’s big space and defeated Rui Patricio for the fall.

However, the crossovers of Giorgos Kyriakopoulos (key, he played for the left end of defense throughout the game) stayed with 10 players due to Ferrari’s dismissal with a second yellow card in 78′ and Roma was able to save some excuses in the final with Kristante netted at 90+4′ with a header after a corner kick from Vertos to make it 2-2.
