Tomori: “Leao reminds me of Henry, Milan’s secret is hunger”
Fikayo Tomori has revealed in an interview that the secret of this year’s Milan is their players’ hunger for success, with the England centre-back making special mention of Rafael Leao, who compares him to the legendary Thierry Henry.
Milan won the Scudetto last year, their 19th in their history and their first since 2011. That success gave them the impetus for more honors this season, with the Rossoneri celebrating on Wednesday night when they claimed a triumphant 4th place for the last 16 Champions League qualified -0 win against Salzburg.
The secret of her recent success? “It is our hunger, the will to always help and win together. We get a lot of support from the manager, the staff, Maldini, Massara and the fans.
We all progress together and that’s ideal for me as a footballer. I bonded with all the players, Milan is a family.”Tomori pointed out in an interview he gave to StarCasino Sport on Thursday (11/3), adding meaningfully:
“Ibrahimovic is a machine and an absolute professional. I have a lot of respect for him, he is a benchmark for me. Leao, on the other hand, is the player who impressed me the most.
He is so powerful that even he has not yet realized his true potential. My childhood idol was Henri. He was different, he played with gloves and knee socks.
I see some of his class in Leo.” As the footballers who caused him the most trouble as opponents since moving to the championship, Leao named Lautaro Martins, Tammy Abraham and Dusan Vlahovic and when asked to talk about his goals he said:
“My dream is to win the Scudetto so Milan can put the second star on their shirt and also the Champions League.”
