Lazio 1-0 Monza: Milan ranked 2nd
Lazio settled for one goal to defeat Monza and catch second-placed AC Milan in Serie A.
Lazio has subjugated me 1-0 the Monza by Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani in Rome, putting Milan second in Serie A after matchday 14.
The game was evenly balanced and indeed the visitors could have taken the lead in the 13th minute, had it not been for offside, thanks to Andrea Petania’s brilliant chop. Maurizio Sarri’s men looked drunk in their derby triumph against Roma and failed to create good chances against a solid defence.
In the 2nd half they took over the “reins” of the game and showed the difference in quality on the field, even if Ciro Immobile was not on the field. In the 69th minute, 17-year-old Argentinian Luca Romero finally did the job, scoring a rebound to make it 1-0 after an unstable intervention by Michele de Gregorio. As much as Monza looked for an equalizer in the final minutes, they couldn’t avoid defeat.
