Brill Embolo put Switzerland ahead early in the second half but didn’t celebrate the goal out of respect for his origins as a native of Cameroon.
With their first big chance in the match, the Swiss opened the shot on goal. Shaqiri turned the ball from the right side while Embolo put the ball into the net with no cover from the small area in the 48th minute of the game.
The goalscorer didn’t celebrate the goal, however, as he hails from Cameroon, where he was born before his parents immigrated to France and then Switzerland.
