Mancini on Mihailovic: ‘This is the day I never wanted to live’

Italy coach Roberto Mancini has expressed his sadness at the loss of Sinisa Mihajlovic, stressing that he has lost a friend with whom he shared 30 years of his life on and off the pitch.

The loss of Sinisa Mihajlovic has rocked the world of Italian football and beyond. calcio bid farewell to the great Serbian player and coach who died of leukemia at the age of 53.

“This is a day I never wanted to live because I lost a friend with whom I shared almost 30 years of my life on and off the pitch.

It is not right that such a terrible disease should take away from us a man of 53 who, to his last moment, fought like a lion as he used to on the field.

That’s exactly how Sinisa will stay by my side, even if he’s not with us, like he was in Genoa, in Rome, in Milan and later when we went different ways.” said the Azzurri coach.
