Cremonese 0-1 Juventus: Milik saved the Bianconeri with an injury-time free-kick

An added-time free-kick from Arkadius Milik gave Juventus a 1-0 home win over Cremonese in their first game of the post-Agnelli era.

Andrea Agnelli’s era is over, but the victories for Juventus continue, albeit in extremis. A free-kick from Arkadius Milik in added time gave up the three points 1-0 at its headquarters Cremonese for the 16th matchday of Serie A.

The Bianconeri were on a six-game winning streak in La Liga but were missing the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Angel Di Maria in the restart after the 2022 World Cup. Massimiliano Allegri again made way for the youth, Matias Soule, Federico Gatti, Niccolò Faggioli and Fabio Miretti started, but the “old lady” could not dominate the field. A couple of small chances didn’t result in goals, while in the 1st half the hosts put the ball in the net but the goal (correctly) didn’t count.

In the 2nd half, Allegri made early substitutions and sought goals with Moises Cain and Federico Chiesa, with Marco Carnezeghi saying no save for a single opportunity. When Milik landed the ball outside the semi-circle of the penalty area and took a free kick, the ball landed in the net for the final score.
