Spalletti: “We have an unprecedented opportunity for the Scudetto, let’s not waste it”
The word league is slowly slipping from the lips of the Napoli, as Luciano Spalletti spoke of a unique opportunity after the 2-0 win against Salernitana that the Partenopei should not let slip.
Napoli ended the first round of this season’s Serie A in triumph after beating Salernitana 2-0 with goals from Di Lorenzo and Osimen to go 12 points clear of second-placed Milan and take 50 points from a maximum of 57 in the first half of the season.
It is understood that it is now the staunch favorite to cut the thread first and win the third championship in its history and the first since 1990, with Luciano Spalletti’s statements on Saturday night acknowledging that the Partenopei should not pass up this opportunity .

We should play our football while remaining humble and professional.” pointed out the Napoli manager who doused team captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo and goalkeeper Alex Merrett with honey for their presence in Salerno:
“Di Lorenzo is a fundamental figure for us. He deserves the captain’s armband and everyone agreed when I nominated him for the role.
For his part, Merrett made two saves where he saved us from reducing the goal to 2-1, which would have made life difficult for us in the final minutes.”
