Juventus: Sarri, Ronaldo and the other 25 players face a ban of at least a month
Juventus have already been penalized with a 15-point penalty for their ‘disturbed’ records, but the players who helped them, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, also face sanctions.
Juventus Turin continues the season with a deduction of 15 points pending the decision of the remaining cases pending against him, but the fate of the footballers involved in changing the financial data of the “Bianconeri” is in doubt.
The 14,000-page investigation includes 26 names of players and a coach who have agreed to take a paper pay cut during the coronavirus pandemic but have not declared to collect the difference.
According to the filing, the issue was raised by the team’s then-president Andrea Agnelli, as well as then-captain Giorgio Chiellini. Evidence exists through Matthias de Licht and Mattia de Silio who in their statements presented WhatsApp conversations with their leader in which he informed them of what was going to happen and they agreed.
According to article 31 of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) regulations, those who are paid by a club and agree to collect undeclared amounts will be penalized with a ban of at least one month. And the club faces a fine of between one and three times the amount saved by this method of tax evasion. In order to be able to understand the size, the “old lady” paid 19,600,000 euros to Ronaldo alone, without specifying it.
The relevant agreement covering Juventus practices was between 22 footballers and Maurizio Sarri in the 2019-2020 season and between 17 footballers in the 2020-2021 season. A total of 27 people gave the Juventus people the ‘OK’ to hide the true financial details of their salaries and they will soon also face sanctions, which will apply even if they have left Juventus.
