Lazio – Milan 4-0: The party at the Olimpico sent it to -1
Lazio defeated a struggling AC Milan 4-0 to move up a point in Serie A.
Lazio stayed in Inter and Roma’s group with the win 4-0 via Milan and now these three teams are one point away from the “rosoneri” and 2nd place. The Matchday 19 party at the “Olimpico” saw all-time Serie A favourites, Napoli, remaining 12 points clear of their nearest rivals.
The game started with the best of signs for Lazio after they took the lead in the 4th minute with Sergei Milinkovic Savic following a defensive error by the visitors. Fikayo Tomori’s injury made the situation even more difficult for Milan, who had faced many problems since the start of the season, adding another one.
Taking advantage of the visitors’ problems and poor physical condition, Lazio found another goal in the 38th minute with Mattia Jacani after Felipe Anderson’s crossbar. Simon Kjaer scored a third goal shortly after but was unable to do so in the 2nd half.
Luis Alberto’s penalty in the 67th minute and that of Felipe Anderson seven minutes later extended the goal in a triumph that left Milan unable to react. Davide Calabria’s injury in injury time ended their disastrous trip to Rome.
