Lautaro Martinez scored twice to lead Inter to a surprise 2-1 win over Cremonese and second in the Serie A table.

Lautaro Martinez does with Inter what he failed to do with Argentina at the recent World Cup and his barrage of goals guided them to another victory. Away from home 2-1 across from Cremonese Matchday 20 was marked by an upset, sending the Nerazzurri to second place in Serie A, ahead of the derby with Milan, the side that can steal it from them on Sunday.

The hosts came into the field strongly and took the lead with a great shot from David Okereke in the 11th minute. The joy of the division bottom lasted ten minutes as it took Martines so long to get back on goal after a lull in play. A rebound from a shot by Edin Dzeko equalized to make it 1-1, scoring in the fifth game of the last six against Inter.

The field was… downhill but Simone Inzaghi’s players couldn’t find a goal. When they did, Marco Karnezeki saved his home until the 65th minute, when a Martines shot, which was countered by an opponent, went into the net. The advantage in the ranking led to a loss of attention from the guests, who avoided the shock in the last few minutes and achieved the “three points”.
