Inter are awaiting a reply from De Fray, with Smalling as an alternative

Wanting to avoid another Skriniar-type case, Inter are looking to ‘tie’ Stefan de Frei through a contract extension, with the Nerazzurri also eyeing the alternative solution.

Martin Skriniar stayed at Inter but everything indicates he will continue his career in Paris next summer and this fact has alarmed the Milanese as they don’t want to suffer the same with Stefan de Frei.

Because of this, they have been pushing for the Dutch centre-back for some time. Negotiations for a contract extension began last summer with Pimenta, the player’s former coach, and are now continuing with Federico Pastorello.

As reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian Cup winner offers the 31-year-old stopper a two-year contract with the same money he received in previous years, namely 4 million euros a year plus bonuses, with the aim of the Nerazzurri, the Don’t let the case drag on for long.

The same outlet stresses that Inter are urging the player to give his final answer in February and if the proposal is rejected, they will focus elsewhere, particularly Roma, with Chris Smalling also seeing his contract with which Jalorossi expires next summer and has not yet been renewed.
