Osimen’s insane numbers put him in the same position as Maradona and Higuain

Victor Osimen has scored in a whirlwind for Napoli to equal Gonzalo Higuain’s remarkable seven-year record while surpassing Maradona’s exploits in the previous Scudetto of the Partenopei.

In the summer of 2020, Napoli signed Victor Oshimen from Lille and their move proved golden as the Nigerian striker worked wonders for the southern Italian club. In his first season in Serie A he stopped at 10 goals in 24 games and last year he scored 14 goals in 27 games with his start being this year.

And that’s because he now has 17 goals in 18 games he’s played, with the 24-year-old being Campionato’s top scorer and leading Luciano Spalletti’s bid for the third championship in his history.

In fact, he made history twice after his goal against Cremonese on Sunday night. And that’s because he scored in his sixth consecutive league game in a Napoli shirt, equaling Gonzalo Higuain’s record as the previous Partenopei player to score in six consecutive games (February 2016).

In addition, with 17 goals he has already surpassed the legendary Diego Maradona, who scored 16 goals in 28 games in the season Napoli won their last league title (1989-1990), with Osimen counting down to a third Scudetto at the end of the season celebrate for the team from the south of Italy.

Incredible scene in Rome – Napoli where Jose Mourinho first chants Quaratschelia and then within ten seconds hugs, kisses and talks to him as if he were his father.

In the 37th minute of the game, the Georgian international earned a foul and a yellow card from his opponent, in a phase that took place in front of Mourinho, who insisted that there was not even a foul.

Afterwards, the Portuguese technician initially shouted at Kvaratshelias, telling him that he was just acting, but as he approached Georgianos, he hugged him, kissed him and began talking to him in a very calm tone while the two men found each other. A little later, the recording showed Mourinho having a very friendly chat with Osimen.
