Victor Oshimen made history with his goal against Sassuolo after becoming the only player to score in seven straight league games for Napoli using the existing scoring system.

Napoli are aiming for a third Scudetto in their history and confirmed that on Friday night (17/02) away to Sassuolo, with Luciano Spalletti’s side winning 2-0 in the 23rd matchday of Serie A and closing the gap with their 20th win increased by Inter to 18 points.

Protagonists of the ‘Partenopei’ at Mapei Stadium were their two best players, Kvaratthelia and Osimen, both of whom found their way into the net, with the Nigerian striker even making history.

And that’s because he broke Gonzalo Higuain’s record of six straight league games with Napoli (2016), with Osimen breaking that feat against Cremonese and against Sassuolo last weekend.

The highly skilled Nigerian striker is now the only player in Napoli history to score in Napoli’s seven Serie A games from 1994-95, in which a win in each game earned them three points, which is impressive in his case, as he already has 18 goals in 19 appearances in this year’s league and is playing by far the best season of his career so far.
