Sinisa Mihailovic would have celebrated his 54th birthday on Monday (February 20) if he hadn’t died so ignominiously last December and the footballers showed with their messages on social media that they always carry him in their hearts.
The 2022 final was bittersweet for Italian football after the death of Sinisa Mihajlovic, a man who had served him no more than any player or coach.
He finally closed his eyes at the age of 53 after losing his battle with cancer, with several of the teams the Serb linked his name to referencing him on a date that would have marked his 54th birthday .
“We will never get used to your absence. Forever in our hearts. First birthday without you. You left a void that cannot be filled.”Milan wrote on its official Twitter account, with Bologna emphasizing: “Sinisha Forever”.
Of course, apart from the teams showing that they don’t forget him, his wife’s post also caused special emotions, with Ariana Mihailovic posting a photo of herself with the Serb of the couple’s moments of happiness, accompanying it with the sentence: “Happy Birthday in Heaven”.
