Udinese-Milan: Ibrahimovic became the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history
Zlatan Ibrahimovic became Milan’s oldest captain against Udinese and when he spectacularly scored a penalty he also became Serie A’s oldest goalscorer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic defies all calendars and makes history. The Swedish superstar became Milan’s oldest captain against Udinese but that wasn’t his most important age record.
At 41 years and 166 days, Ibrahimovic became the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history thanks to a well-timed penalty late in the 1st half.
To score and break the record set by Alessandro Costacurta (41 years and 25 days since May 2007), he twice had to execute the penalty scored by Rafael Leao against Jaka Bigol.
In the first round, Marco Silvestri came over to the left and made a save. The game continued but VAR informed the referee that a Udinese player had entered the penalty area before the penalty.
The referee gave a replay and this time Ibrahimovic shot into the center with a lot of power and scored 1-1.
The celebration of the record was short-lived, however, as the home side equalized moments later through Beto.
