Monza – Lazio 0-2: Remained in 2nd place and out of contention
Lazio took advantage of Inter’s malaise, beating Monza 2-0 against the flow of the game and finishing 2nd in Serie A.
THE Monza had the chances, Lazio the goals and the 2-0 the Romans held them in 2nd place in Serie A after 28 games and in the driver’s seat for a place in the top four that led to the Champions League.
Maurizio Sarri’s side took the lead after beating Roma in the Derby della Capitale and the in-form Pedro scored the opening goal in the 13th minute. The hosts didn’t give up and had the greatest chances in the 1st half, but were stopped by the post, Ivan Provendel and especially their failure.
At the beginning of the second half, Sergej Milinkovic Savic made it 2-0 and dashed the home side’s hopes for anything good. After that they got the upper hand but didn’t have the same chances and in the end Lazio celebrated yet another win.
