Verona – Napoli 1-2: Osimen kept it on a title track
Victor Osimen scored twice to give Napoli a 2-1 win in Verona to keep them on the title track.
Milan showed their cards first and Napoli followed in tough title poker. The “Partenopei” prevailed 2-1 in Verona of the home side to their 29th Serie A game and held the gap to the champions by three points, with Inter also in check with fewer games.
The protagonist of the game was Victor Osimen, who scored both of the guests’ goals. First in the 14th minute after a pass from Mateo Politano, he put the lead on Napoli, the best and most prolific team on the field, even without a clear chance.
In the second half, the hosts tried to level the game but failed to find Osimen’s way back into the net. Somewhere there the players of Igor Tudor woke up (o Panos Retso dropped out due to injury) and locked the guests in their stadium. Davide Faraoni reduced the deficit in the 77th minute and when everything pointed to a thriller finale, a hand from Federico Cecerini brought down the curtain.
