Wojciech Szczesny shocked Juventus viewers when he was eliminated by Sporting in the Europa League quarter-finals with “chest pain” and explained what happened to him at the end of the game.

Wojciech Szczesny was one of Juventus’ best players in the Europa League quarter-final win over Sporting (1-0), but didn’t play the entire first half.

After two major appearances without conceding a goal, the Polish goalkeeper was substituted in the 44th minute and complained of “chest pain”, as reported by the television channel DAZN.

With tears in his eyes, the Pole left for the “Allianz Stadium” and frightened the team’s friends, whom he wanted to calm down with his humor a little later.

“I’m fine, I was a bit worried but we did all the tests and everything is fine. I was scared, it’s never happened to me before, I was having trouble breathing and I was really worried.” said the Poland international goalkeeper first, before praising Mattia Perin, who stood by him during the interview and deservedly replaced him on the pitch.

“The truth is I saw Matias in great form in training. I felt tired and I knew he was going to make a great double operation in the 94th minute.

I congratulated him, he is a child with a heart of gold, we get along well. Too bad Carlo Pinsolio (also Juventus third goalkeeper) didn’t come in, he would have had a hat trick of great interference.

Matias can speak better, I’m just prettier.”
