Sassuolo defeated Juventus 1-0 thanks to a goal from Gregoire Defrel before the Bianconeri’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Sporting.

THE Sassuolo dominated Juventus for most of the game and despite not having the same motivation, they clinched the win 1-0 for the 30th matchday of Serie A.

The hosts have settled in the middle of the table, but showed better numbers than the stressed “Bianconeri”. The duo Arkadius Milik and Dusan Vlahovic at the top did not equalize and the 1st part went into the match without a well-placed performance.

In the 2nd half Sassuolo came out stronger and scored once when Federico Gatti almost scored an own goal just after saving Juventus on the line. Mathias Perrin made an impressive move against Gregoire Defrel but the Frenchman eventually defeated him. Juventus had a good chance but Andrea Consilli’s incredible save kept a clean sheet as the Bianconeri failed to win a third game in domestic competition before traveling to Lisbon for the second leg against Sporting in the Europa League quarter-finals.
