Romelu Lukaku regained his contact with the net after a long time and in the final of the game against Empoli he sent an attack of… love to the people of Inter.

This season has been quite difficult for Romelu Lukaku as he stayed in the pits most of the time and worked hard to overcome his injury problems, but the hoped-for redemption came in the winning match at Empoli’s home game (3-0).

And that’s because he netted twice and scored in open play for the first time since last August (253 days total). The Belgium international forward celebrated with the crowd and sanity at the end of the game in his statements about the need to repay Inter for the love received.

“We should always thank the fans because in every game they give the players confidence to do better. This is an extremely difficult season for us and we thank the fans for their support.”

We do a good job with the physiotherapists. The injury I had was the worst of my career, it’s never happened to me before, but my confidence is growing and I want to keep helping the team.” Lukaku stressed while referring to the grace he had received from the President of FIGC to attend Inter – Juventus despite the ban he had from the first Coppa Italia semi-final, he said:

“I would like to thank the President of the Italian Football Federation for giving me the opportunity to play. It’s a step forward for Italian football.”

I always want to improve, give more to Inter. As I said, Inter gave me everything and I have to give Inter everything.”
