Napoli – Salernitana 1-1: Dia freezes Diego Maradona and postpones coronation
Napoli were preparing to celebrate a return to the top of Serie A after 33 years but Boulaghe Dia equalized 1-1 for Salernitana and put the crown on hold for a few days.
The party had been set up several hours before the center in town. The Napoli players continued and prepared for a unique moment in their lives. But the Salernitana had a different view. The 1-1 Boulaghe Dia in the 84th minute postponed the coronation for at least a few days and spoiled the party of the “Partenopei” on matchday 32 of Serie A.
The game was extremely one-sided, the ball was constantly in Luciano Spalletti’s men, but Guillermo Ochoa destroyed their chances. The fear built, as did the pressure on goal, until Matias Olivera scored the opening goal in the 62nd minute.
The wild celebrations didn’t end well for the home team. Salernitana didn’t go for goals, but attacked and scored the 1-1 draw with a wonderful individual effort from Dia. As much as the hosts tried in the final minutes, they didn’t put in the necessary effort and thus missed a great opportunity.
Everything will be decided midweek, starting with Lazio’s clash with Sassuolo where, should the home side not win, the Partenopei will be crowned champions before they take on Udinese in Friuli on Thursday.
in Tuscany, Florence broke against the tail Samdoria with 5-0scored four goals after 59′ when he was replaced by Marios Economous.
