Milan 2-0 Lazio: Pyrreios wins, Leao is the victim
AC Milan defeated Lazio 2-0 to move back into the top four of Serie A but lost Rafael Leao to injury ahead of the Champions League semi-finals.
Milan lost more than they won 2-0 against Lazio in the “Giuseppe Meazza” on the 34th matchday of Serie A, even if they finished in the top four of the table again.
The Rossoneri saw Rafael Leao off in the 11th minute with a muscle injury just four days before their Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan.
Even without their star they were superior to Maurizio Sarri’s men and took the lead in the 17th minute through Ismael Benaser following a mistake by goalkeeper Ivan Provendel.
About ten minutes later, Teo Hernandez took the ball from outside his team’s penalty area, got close to the opponent, shot and scored to make it 2-0.
There was no reaction from the guests, confirming the tradition that they didn’t want to succeed at San Siro, where from 1989 to this year they had only one win (2019) for the championship against “Rossoneri”.
In the 2nd half, Milan got the upper hand, again had more good moments, sent the ball into the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside and finally achieved the “Pyrrh” victory.
