With the calendar showing 19 April 1989, Napoli were preparing to play Bayern Munich in the second semi-final of the UEFA Cup at Munich’s Olympiastadion. Diego Maradona did something of a warm-up, more like a technical training demonstration, to the tunes of Opus’ Live Is Life.

Inevitably, the song and the Argentine went down in history and, fatally, as Napoli celebrated their third Scudetto, the related song was played out of the speakers by… Diego Armando Maradona.
