Very tough time for Sampdoria, who are relegated to Serie A for the first time after 11 consecutive seasons.

Relegation to Serie B after 11 consecutive appearances in the Italian football elite is perhaps the lesser evil that has befallen Sampdoria this summer.

On Monday evening (08/05) the Genoa side, with Mario Oikonomou on the bench, were beaten 2-0 in Udine and the -13 from the save only confirmed the inevitable considering they had it in the last five games of the season were on the hunt for a ratings miracle. Doria had not won since 3/19 and, with two points in the following seven games, found himself in dire straits to drop out of the first division. In fact, during the time when the hated Genoa was celebrating its return.

However, it is possible that Sampdoria will be forced to try promotion from the bottom (fourth tier) as the scenario of bankruptcy and a financial reset is not ruled out. After all, this was their biggest hoarseness of the year, worrying the club and severely slowing their progress.
