Jose Mourinho appeared disarmed at the press conference when a journalist asked him to comment on former Roma coach Zdenek Zeman’s statements about him and replied that he would not deal with someone who has won Serie B twice.

Roma and Lazio face off in the Rome derby on Sunday (20/3) with Jose Mourinho’s side aiming to climb the points to fifth place.

The “Jalorossi” qualified for the quarterfinals of the Conference League, at the same time things are not looking so good for the Portuguese coach in Serie A. Roma are in seventh place while they have drawn three and won two in their last five games.

Faced with the derby, speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the former Roma (1997-99 and 2012/13) and Lazio (1994-97) coach referred to the two teams and claimed that Mauricio Sari was doing better than Mourinho: Sari is doing better, he has already given Lazio an identity in the game.

“Mourinho hasn’t lived up to expectations in terms of football quality so far. Roma haven’t figured out what they want to do on the pitch, while Lazio are more determined.” were the words of the 74-year-old Czech.

His comment angered the Portugal coach who, despite refusing to throw away his ‘medicine’:“You don’t expect a coach with 25 titles to answer someone who has won Serie B twice. If you ask me a question about Trapattoni or Capello, but about Zeman… Please, I can’t answer.”
