Luciano Spalletti and Napoli are set to start talks over a new deal, with the Italy boss making specific demands, including a pay rise.

Napoli are still celebrating winning the championship after 33 years. However, the Partenopei also begin planning for the next day when they are called upon to defend the Scudetto.

One of the outstanding issues is Spalletti’s contract, which expires in 2024. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, there will be a discussion between those involved over the Italian technician’s salaries in the near future.

At the moment, Spalletti gets 2.8 million euros a year and will ask for 4.5. De Laurentiis is reportedly unwilling to pay more than €3.5m.

Contract negotiations aside, the Italy manager would like to know how Napoli will move in the transfer window next summer. In addition, he wants to know what the future of technical director Cristiano Giudoli will be like.

The summer is expected to be ‘hot’ for the Partenopei, who will fight to prevent the collapse of the Osimen – Kvaratthelia duo.
