De Laurentiis: ‘We spoke to Enrique but his thoughts are with the Premier League’
Napoli strongman Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that there have been contacts with Luis Enrique over the managerial position, but also revealed that Premier League teams are a priority for the Spanish manager.
Luciano Spalletti announced that Napoli was closed for this chapter and said goodbye to the team. He announced he would not be on another club’s bench in the new season so he could rest.
Partenopei strongman Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed reports that former Spain coach Luis Enrique is number 1 on the list of possible substitutes.
Speaking to Rai News, he explained that there have been contacts between the two sides but Enrique’s priority is England.
“We discussed. He’s a great manager, he performed very well at Barcelona but I think he has the Premier League on his mind. We have to keep in mind that we compete with many leagues that are more attractive than ours, such as the English one.
I can tell him that there is no golf there and that the fog and the food are not such good conditions, and more… that’s a conversation (laughs). “There is a financial problem, there are more attractive resources there,” he said characteristically.
