Mikhailovich battles leukemia again

A proven bench and life fighter, Sinisa Mikhailovic is ready to take another big fight and win it. The Bologna coach gave an extraordinary press conference on Saturday, announcing that he has to stay off the bench for a couple of games to get it through treatment due to the leukemia he’s been dealing with, which first emerged 2.5 years ago to manage something.

“I have to start a new treatment to avoid complications. Early next week I will be admitted to the hospital: I know that I am in good hands.

This time you see me calmer because I know what I have to do and the situation is very different. I hope this all passes quickly, but I will miss some games.

And Mikhailovich, referring to the second possible battle before him, added: “This disease is too brave to be in the mood to endure someone like me again. If she hasn’t had enough classes, I’m here to give her a second. You can fall, but you must find the strength to get up again”.
